Request an appointment today and start moving better with a personalized treatment plan built around your goals.
Our Bridgewater-area clinic was created for people who want more than a routine physical therapy experience. If you have tried generic exercises, quick appointments, or temporary pain relief without lasting results, our approach is designed to help you understand what is actually driving the problem.
Every session is one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, which means your treatment is never based on a template. We take time to evaluate how your whole body moves, identify the underlying cause of your pain or limitation, and adjust your plan as you progress.
For athletes and active adults, this matters. Getting out of pain is only the first step. We also help you rebuild strength, improve mobility, restore confidence, and prepare your body for the real demands of training, sports, work, and daily life.
At Next Level, we bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance so you can recover well, move better, and reduce the chances of the same issue coming back.
Pain is often the result of how the body moves, compensates, and adapts over time. The area that hurts is rarely the true source of the problem, so our care starts with movement, not just symptoms.
Skilled, hands-on treatment to reduce pain, restore mobility, and prepare tissues for movement.
Targeted mobility, soft-tissue, and recovery strategies to keep you training without pain.
Drills that re-pattern how you squat, lift, run, and rotate to reduce flare-ups long-term.
Progressive loading to rebuild stability, control, and resilience for sport and daily life.
Whether you are recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic pain, or trying to return to an active lifestyle, our goal is not just short-term relief — it is helping you move and perform with long-term confidence.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, we work with athletes, active adults, and individuals throughout Bridgewater, Raritan, Somerville, Somerset County, and Hunterdon County who want to recover from pain, improve movement, and stay active long-term.
Whether your goal is returning to the gym, running without pain, recovering after surgery, improving sports performance, or simply moving comfortably throughout your day, our team creates individualized treatment plans built around your lifestyle and goals.

At Next Level Physical Therapy, we help patients throughout Bridgewater, Raritan, Somerville, Somerset County, and surrounding communities recover from pain, restore movement, and return to the activities they enjoy. Our team treats a wide range of orthopedic injuries, mobility limitations, sports-related conditions, post-surgical cases, and chronic pain issues using individualized, one-on-one care.
Back pain can develop from many different factors including mobility limitations, movement compensation patterns, repetitive stress, sports injuries, lifting mechanics, postural demands, and previous injuries. Whether you are dealing with stiffness, muscle spasms, sciatica symptoms, disc-related pain, or recurring flare-ups, our team focuses on identifying the underlying movement issues contributing to your symptoms.
Through hands-on treatment, strength-based rehabilitation, movement retraining, and individualized exercise programming, we help athletes and active adults throughout Bridgewater return to exercise, work, sports, and daily activities with greater confidence and less pain.
Knee pain can develop from sports injuries, overuse, post-surgical limitations, strength deficits, running mechanics, mobility restrictions, or movement compensation patterns elsewhere in the body. We commonly help patients dealing with ACL injuries, meniscus irritation, patellofemoral pain, tendon pain, and recurring knee discomfort.
Our approach focuses on improving strength, mobility, balance, movement control, and lower-body mechanics so patients can confidently return to running, lifting, training, and everyday activities without constantly worrying about pain or reinjury.
Hip pain can affect everything from training to running, lifting, and athletic performance. We commonly help patients dealing with hip impingement, labral irritation, muscle strains, stiffness, mobility limitations, tendon pain, and movement-related hip discomfort.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, we evaluate how the hips, pelvis, low back, and surrounding muscles work together to identify movement limitations and compensation patterns that may be contributing to pain. Our treatment approach focuses on improving mobility, restoring strength, optimizing movement mechanics, and helping patients return confidently to exercise, sports, and everyday movement.
Shoulder pain commonly affects athletes, gym-goers, active adults, and individuals performing repetitive overhead activities. Conditions such as rotator cuff irritation, impingement, labral injuries, instability, and post-surgical stiffness can significantly impact strength, mobility, and daily function.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, we evaluate how the shoulder, thoracic spine, rib cage, and surrounding muscles work together to improve mobility, reduce irritation, rebuild strength, and restore long-term function so you can return confidently to lifting, sports, work, and daily movement.
Neck pain and headaches are often influenced by posture, breathing mechanics, mobility limitations, muscle tension, repetitive movements, and movement compensation patterns throughout the body. Symptoms may include stiffness, tension headaches, pain with turning the head, radiating discomfort, or recurring tightness around the neck and shoulders.
Our team takes a whole-body approach to evaluating neck pain and movement-related headaches by assessing cervical mobility, rib cage mechanics, shoulder movement, posture, and muscular control. Through hands-on treatment, movement retraining, mobility work, and strength-based rehabilitation, we help patients reduce pain, improve movement, and return confidently to exercise, sports, work and everyday movement.
Ankle and foot pain can significantly impact walking, running, exercise, sports performance, and daily movement. We commonly help patients dealing with ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon pain, foot stiffness, instability, and recurring ankle injuries.
At Next Level Physical Therapy, we evaluate foot and ankle mobility, walking mechanics, strength, and lower-body movement patterns to identify the root causes contributing to pain and dysfunction. Our treatment approach focuses on restoring mobility, improving stability and strength, reducing reinjury risk, and helping patients confidently return to running, sports, training, and everyday activities.
Elbow and wrist pain commonly develop from repetitive movements, sports activities, lifting, gripping, typing, or compensation patterns involving the shoulder and upper body. We frequently help patients experiencing tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, tendon irritation, wrist stiffness, nerve-related symptoms, and movement limitations affecting daily function.
Our approach focuses on identifying the underlying movement and loading patterns contributing to irritation while improving strength, mobility, coordination, and upper-body mechanics. Through individualized rehabilitation and movement-based treatment, we help patients reduce pain and return confidently to work, exercise, sports, and daily activities.
Sports performance and return-to-sport training bridge the gap between rehabilitation and full athletic performance. At Next Level Physical Therapy, recovery does not stop once pain decreases. We continue progressing strength, movement quality, conditioning, and sport-specific performance so athletes can confidently return to competition and training.
Our team utilizes return-to-run programming, lifting progressions, plyometrics, change-of-direction drills, force development training, and sport-specific testing to help reduce reinjury risk and improve long-term performance. Whether you are returning from surgery, recovering from an injury, or preparing to get back to your sport, we build individualized plans designed around your goals and athletic demands.
Explore the conditions we commonly treat and learn how our individualized, movement-based approach helps patients throughout Bridgewater return to the activities they enjoy with less pain and greater confidence.
Your experience at Next Level Physical Therapy starts with a comprehensive one-on-one assessment. We take time to listen to your story, understand your goals, assess how your body moves, and identify the factors that may be contributing to your pain or limitation.
Rather than focusing only on where symptoms show up, our team looks at how your entire body works together. This helps us determine whether mobility restrictions, strength deficits, movement patterns, training habits, or previous injuries are playing a role.
Based on your assessment, we create a personalized physical therapy plan designed around your goals, whether that means returning to sports, getting back to the gym, recovering after surgery, reducing chronic pain, or simply moving through daily life with more confidence.
We start with your story — symptoms, goals, activity demands, and history.
A whole-body movement screen to find why the issue is happening, not just where.
Hands-on care plus the targeted exercises that begin building progress day one.
A clear, personalized plan with milestones — and a way to measure progress.
Targeted manual care to reduce pain and restore mobility.
Progressive loading to rebuild stability, control, and resilience.
Skill-focused coaching to improve mechanics and reduce flare-ups.
Targeted mobility and recovery work to support full-body function.
Clear guidance so you understand your progress every step of the way.
Every session is focused, purposeful, and adjusted as you improve, so your care continues to match your body, your goals, and the activities you want to return to.
Every session at our Bridgewater-area clinic is performed by a licensed physical therapist with advanced training in sports rehabilitation, orthopedic care, and movement-based treatment.
If you’re looking for a physical therapist who truly goes above and beyond, I cannot recommend Jose Rodriguez at Next Level Physical Therapy enough. I originally went in for low back pain, but what I received was so much more than treatment for a single issue. Jose has an incredible depth of knowledge, not just about movement, but about how the entire body works together as one system. He helped me understand how every area of the body affects the others, and for the first time, everything actually made sense. What impressed me most was how personalized every session was. He never used a one-size-fits-all approach. Every recommendation, exercise, and explanation was tailored specifically to my body, my experiences, and my goals. He took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure I truly understood not just what we were doing, but why we were doing it. Even more importantly, Jose teaches in a way that empowers you. Instead of simply treating you during your appointment, he gives you the knowledge and tools to continue improving long after you leave. His goal is clearly to help you become stronger, healthier, and more confident, not dependent on him. The appointments are somehow both educational and genuinely fun. You leave learning something new every single time, and you can tell he is passionate about helping people feel their best. One thing that really sets Jose apart is how available and invested he is. He makes himself accessible if questions come up, and you never feel like just another patient on his schedule. He listens carefully when you explain what’s going on, genuinely cares about what you’re experiencing, and wants to find the root cause, not just put a bandage on the symptoms. I also appreciate how realistic his approach is. He understands that people have jobs, families, and busy lives. He doesn’t expect perfection, he focuses on consistent progress, which makes the entire process feel achievable and sustainable. Jose has completely changed the way I think about my body, movement, and recovery. If you’re dealing with pain or simply want someone who is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and invested in your long-term health, you won’t find anyone better. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone without hesitation.
I have been treated by Dr.Jose for almost 10 weeks now. The treatment method and the instructional and detailed nature of the sessions is very unique. In addition to treatment drills and homework, I get to understand in detail the root cause, symptoms and means to avoid such injuries in future. Highly recommend.
I have been doing PT with Dr. Jose Rodriguez for a year. I have chronical shoulder and hip issues on my right side. He has been very patient, explaining the root causes, measurements, exercises, and goals. I am on my path to recover. Unlike a typical PT that deals with pain for 12 weeks, he has a whole body approach, gets me to the right posture, breathing. Then helps me to rebuild my muscle strength. I have been doing yoga, pilates, and barr for several years. Stick with low impact exercises due to numerous pain points. And now, I am back to gym doing weight training, pain-free and with good forms, hopefully. It is hard work and I am happy to be on this path with him. I am also a curious learner of body anatomy. He is happy to share his knowledge with me, how muscles, bones, nerves work in my body. Why do I have pain here and there. It is a great learning experience too that most doctors won't give you.
Dr. Kate and the team here have been great. Building my strength and restoring confidence that I can come back from injury and surgery.
Next Level Physical Therapy definitely lived up to its name. My experience was beyond next level. Dr. Kate was like a wizard. She created a magical potion of miracle needles and exercises. Overall she helped me use my hips again! Compared to other places I’ve been, I’ve never had so many enjoyable sessions using my hips. From laughing to being locked in, it was a marvelous experience.
After years of trying other PTs, I came across an instagram ad and decided to check out next level. I was lucky enough to get to work with Dr. Jose. He was by far the most experienced and educated DPT I have worked with. After suffering from back and hip pain for over a decade, he took the time to break down and explain what was going on after various tests and measurements. He was the first clinician ever to explain the impact the nervous system was having on my pain, and actually measure and find certain imbalances. Every exercise was something I had never done before. There was nothing cookie cutter about my sessions…they were all tailored and adjusted to my issues and progression. The staff was always welcoming and accommodating, especially Rachael. The facility and equipment were immaculate. I couldn’t recommend them more. Very grateful for the results I experienced at next level thanks to Dr. Jose.
Great stuff at this place. Came back from 2 shoulder surgeries and cleared with no restrictions. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. They also provide Fiji water which is a cool plus.
My frozen shoulder journey... it's hard to find someone who treats frozen shoulder well! I am so glad that I found Next Level and Dr. Kate! I'm a pretty active person who had been struggling with my shoulder for several months. I had been to two other PT places as well as two sports medicine doctors. I had received several injections (cortisone, prolotherapy, PRP/ stem cells, etc). It wasn't getting any better. Next Level is different, you work one on one with a PT for the whole session. It's not 45 minutes of exercises by yourself and then 6 minutes with a PT. Dr Kate has helped identify specifically which muscles are causing issues and creatively find treatments and exercises to gradually teach them to behave 😉 It might involve hands on, cupping or dry needling... using bands, TRX, kettlebells... I've made significant improvements and have faith that I will regain full strength and ROM in the near future. Next Level is also just a pleasant place to be. Rachael at the front desk is always on the ball and super friendly. And Dr Jose is encouraging even though I'm not his patient. I'm just super glad I ended up here!
I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Jose. From the very beginning, he made me feel comfortable, supported, and truly cared for. His knowledge, patience, and dedication to my recovery genuinely changed my life for the better. He took the time to understand my needs, pushed me when I needed it, and always encouraged me every step of the way. The environment in the office was just as amazing, welcoming, positive, and professional. You can tell the entire team takes pride in creating a space where patients feel at ease and motivated to heal. Overall, this was more than just physical therapy for me, it was a life-changing experience. I’m beyond grateful for everything Jose and the team have done for me, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care.
Dr. Jose is God in human form when it comes to understanding the human body. This experience is not for the weak at heart or pocket. It can be a little pricey but the good things in life are not cheap. I decided to invest in myself and my health and I wasn’t disappointed. I couldn’t run when I began and now I can sprint. Thank you so much Dr. Jose. You changed my life and my future. Thank you Next Level Physical Therapy. However the best part of Next Level physical Therapy is Rachael at the front desk. It’s the best customer service you will ever experience. She is the definition of kindness understanding and corporation.
